CONSTANTIUS II, (A.D. 337-361), gold solidus, Nicomedia mint, issued 348-353, (4.40 g), obv. rosette and pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantius to right, around FL IVL CONSTAN TIVS PERP AVG, rev. Roma and Constantinopolis seated enthroned facing, each support between them a shield inscribed VOT/XX/ MVLT/XXX around legend GLORIA REI PVBLICAE, in exergue SMNT, (S.17738, RIC 32 [R3], C.108). Bent flan, with flan crack, otherwise nearly extremely fine and very rare.
