SICILY, Akragas (Agrigentum), (c.500-480 B.C.), silver didrachm, Jenkins Group IV, (8.37 g), obv. eagle with closed wings standing to left, AK behind, RA in front, rev. crab within circular incuse field, (A) **S* below, (cf.S.709A, cf.Jenkins (Gela) Pl.37,15/17, SNG ANS 960 [similar dies]). Very fine/fine with surface roughness on reverse, a rare variety.
