SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochus VIII, (121-96 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.74 g), Antioch mint, issued 121-113 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochus VIII to right, fillet border, rev. Zeus Uranius with crescent above standing to left, holding star and sceptre, on right, BASILEOS and ANTIOCOV and to right EPIFANOVS, to left IE over A, to right between figure and inscription N, (cf.S.7143, SC 2298.2e, HGC 9, 1197e. Newell 367, Hunterian No.8, BMC 10, Houghton ACNAC 322). Extremely fine and scarce.
