PALESTINE, Roman Procurator of Judaea, Marcus Ambibulus under Augustus, (A.D. 9-12), copper prutah, (2.10 g), obv. ear of barley surrounded by Greek inscription, KAICA POC, rev. eight branched palm tree, across L M = year 40 = A.D. 10, (S.5608, H.637 [102], AJC II Supplement V, No.4, Meshorer 218). Slightly off centred on the reverse, very fine with a very clear date reading.

Ex Decades Collection and Noble Numismatics Sale 74 (lot 4626) and previously from the Harry Abramowitz family collection, sold Superior Galleries (USA) auctions December 8, 1993 (lot 456 part).
