MARCUS AURELIUS, as Caesar, (A.D. 161-180), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 152-3, (2.98 g), obv. bare head of Marcus Aurelius to right, around AVRELIVS CAE SAR AVG P II FIL, rev. around TR POT VII COS II, Genius Exercitus in military dress standing to left, sacrificing out of a patera over lighted altar and holding legionary eagle, (cf.S.4790, RIC 458, RSC 661, BMC 804). Lightly toned, extremely fine and very scarce.
