MARCUS AURELIUS, as Caesar (138-161 A.D.), AE dupondius or as (25-27mm, 12.31g), issued A.D. 145, obv. AVRELIVS CAE-SAR AVG P II F Bare head of Marcus Aurelius to right. rev. TR POT - COS II, S - C across field, Minerva, helmeted, draped, standing right, holding vertical spear in right hand and resting left hand on round shield set on ground, (S.4838, BMCRE IV p. 293, ++; C. 597, RIC III p. 177, 1266). Extremely fine and rare.
