SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, issued 199, Rome mint, (2.61 g), obv. laureate head to right of Septimius Severus, around L SEPT SEV AVG IMP XI PART MAX, rev. Victory hovering to left, holding open wreath with both hands over shield set on base, around VIC[TORIAE AV]GG FEL, (S.6381, RIC 144b, RSC 719). Deeply toned, Slightly off centred, nearly extremely fine.
