BASIL II & CONSTANTINE VII, period of (976-1025/8), copper follis (20.17 g), Anonymous Class A2, Constantinople mint, obv. Nimbate facing bust of Christ, raising hand in benediction and holding Gospels, cross and pellets in nimbus, traces of +EMMA NOVHA, rev. four-line legend, dotted circle and wings above and below legend, (S.1813, cf.DOC III A2.49 variety). Worn portrait of Christ, otherwise very fine or better and rare as such, comes with collectors ticket.

One of the heaviest examples of Type A2 ever recorded.
