The 10th Battalion was part of the 3rd Brigade which was the covering force for the Anzac landing on 25 April 1915 and to this end was the first ashore at around 4.30am.
William Tobin, labourer, age 20, born at Torrowangle, NSW ; Enl.21Aug1914 at Morphettville, Sth Aust; Emb.20Oct1914; 25Apr1915 at Gallipoli landing; 16Sep1915 admitted to hospital at Anzac and then to various other hospitals before discharging and returning to unit; further hospital admissions followed and on 12Apr1916 TOS 5th Australian Field Bakery; RTA 08Nov1918; Disch.28Feb1919.
