GROUP OF SEVEN: British War Medal 1914-18; Victory medal 1914-19; 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Defence Medal 1939-45; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45. 2267 Pte H.J.Wilkinson 46 Bn AIF on first and second medals, VX45489 H.J.Wilkinson on third to seventh medals. All medals impressed. Very fine.

Herbert James Wilkinson, (WWI) Pte 46th Battalion, 2/5 Field Ambulance; farmer, born at Kerang, Vic; Enl.02May1916 at Melbourne, Vic; WIA 22Jan1917 GSW left leg and 12Oct1917 GSW back; recommended for MM 25Sep1918; RTA 17Mar1919. (WWII) Enl.11Jul1940 at Caulfield, Vic; Disch.17Nov1943.

Together with single page of service record, photocopy of recommendation for MM, and a congratulary card - to Pte Wilkinson 'On his fine work and disregard of danger when rescuing wounded comrades on 18th September 1918, near St Quentin'. With folds, creases and some pieces missing to last item.
