GEORGE VI, Melbourne Mint proof crown, 1938. Sealed light golden grey toned patina with underlying mint bloom and slight iridescence, nearly FDC and very rare.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 81 (lot 1459) and previously from L.R.Hornshaw Collection. Originally bought from Dave Raymond in Sydney in 1939, sold with a copy of a typed letter from him attesting to the fact this is a proof and one of only eighteen struck, per correspondence with Deputy Master of the Melbourne Mint 17th March 1939.
