MURDER OF SIR EDMUNDBURY GODFREY, 1678, in silvered bronze (38mm), by G.Bower, obv. bust being strangled by two hands, MORIENDO RESTITVIT REM E GODFREY, rev. man strangling a prostrate figure, being blessed by a papal figure, TANTVM RELLIGIO POTVIT, with edge inscription CERVICE FRACTA FIDEM SVSTVLIT ATLAS XNS 1678, (Eimer 257a, MI.577/247). Good very fine.
