W.H.MEDAL, 1839, in bronze (58mm) by T.Halliday, obverse, triptych of the theatre at Athens, Socrates in prison and Demosthenes on sea-shore, reverse, 'To Encourage a Steady perseverance In/Industry/Courtesy/and/Integrity', '66' in tablet (Forrer II, 390), in original maroon leather case with descriptive booklet also published in 1839. Some surface discolouration, spot of verdigris on reverse, case damaged, otherwise nearly uncirculated.
