SYRIA, Kingdom of, Seleucus I, (312-280 B.C.), AE 18, (6.656 grams), Seleucia on Tigris mint, c.284-283 B.C., obv. winged head of Medusa to right, rev. bull butting to right, in exergue **SELEUKOU*, above **BASILEWS*, (S.6852, SNG Israel I 144, Newell ESM 118). Dark green patina very fine, rare.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 68 (lot 1931) and the Jacob Hirsch Sale 15 May 1905 (Prof. Athanasios Rhousopoulos) (lot 4431) originally came with old German ticket now lost.
