Lot 2194    Session 7 (11.30am Wednesday)    World Silver & Bronze

Estimate $4,000
Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $4,800

U.S.A., pattern Goloid Metric Dollar 1880 in copper, reeded edge, (Judd 1652, Rarity 7, KM pn.1737 [$6350 US]). As struck, with blue and golden red tone, nearly FDC and excessively rare.

This example appears to be more sharply struck on Liberty's portrait and hair detail than a similar coin in Goldberg May 26, 2003 sale (lot 610 est. US$8500-9500). That cataloguer notes NGC has graded only one example.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
