Lot 2195    Session 7 (11.30am Wednesday)    World Silver & Bronze

Estimate $9,000
Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $10,000

U.S.A., pattern Morgan/Barber dollar in silver 1879, reeded edge, (Judd 1615, Rarity 7, KM pn.1699 [$12,850 US]). As struck, with light peripheral tone, FDC and excessively rare.

This example as a proof pattern mule uses the accepted Morgan head design for Morgan dollars and a new reverse by William Barber. Rudd notes this pattern has not been seen elsewhere. The reverse is similar to Judd 1605 but the eagle is larger and the wreath of Judd 1605 has been omitted.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
