IRELAND, Australian Emigration Officer's badge, Cork, circa 1840s, thin brass badge embossed with sailing ship on ocean and lettering on the outer edge 'Australian Emigration Office, Cork', two split pins on back for mounting to the officer's hat. In very good condition.

Extremely rare, this is the only one known to exist, possibly around the Potato Famine era.
