SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrios I, (162-150 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.78 g), Antioch mint, issued period 162-156 B.C., obv. diademed head of Demetrios to right within laurel wreath border, rev. Tyche seated to left with leg of throne a winged monster, holds sceptre and cornucopiae, to right **[B]ASILEWS*, to left **DHMH TRIOU*, **AP* monogram, (S.7014, SC 1638.1g, HGC 795f, SNG Israel [Pl. 83], 1259,). Bright, very fine or better, scarce.
