SYRIA, Kingdom of, Alexander I Balas, (150-145 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.05 g), Antioch on the Orontes mint, undated issued year 162-3 = 151-149 B.C., obv. diademed head of Alexander I to right, filleted border, rev. Zeus seated left on throne, holding Nike and sceptre, on right, **BASILEWS ALEXANDROU* and to left **QEOPATOROS EUERGETOU*, under throne date HP monogram, (cf.S.7035, HGC 887a, SC 1785.1m). Well centred, lightly toned nearly extremely fine and rare.
