C. MARIUS C.F. Capito, (81 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.87 g), obv. Ceres draped bust to right, hair bound in corn-wreath, C.MARI C.F. CAPIT XII around, rev. husbandman plowing to left, with yoke of oxen, XII above, (S.279, Cr.378/1a, Syd.744, B.Maria 7). Serrated edge, nearly extremely fine, silver-grey toning, rare.

Ex I.S. Wright, Sydney, May 3, 2004 and previously from Noble Numismatics Auction Sale 62 (lot 2406), acquired from Dolphin Coins, November 16, 1986 and Stanley Gibbons, London, c.1978.
