PAEONIA, Kingdom of, Patraos, (c.340-315 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (12.81 g), obv. laureate head of Apollo to right, rev. horseman right spearing fallen enemy, who holds spear and shield, around below **PATRAO[U]*, monogram above left, (S.1520, Paeonian Hoard 242 [same dies], SNG ANS 1030 var. no monogram). Uneven flan, attractive golden toning on reverse, slight surface pitting otherwise very fine or better and a scarce type.
