MARK ANTONY, (32-31 B.C.), silver denarius, mint moving with Mark Antony, (3.50 g), obv. praetorian galley to right with rowers etc., around ANT AVG III VIR. [R.P.C.], rev. three military standards with wreaths and prows, CHORTIS SPECVLATORVM below, (S.1479, Cr.544/12, Syd.1214, BMC East 185, RSC 6). A few surface marks, otherwise toned, nearly very fine and rare.

The cohortes speculatorum were the information gatherers, scouts and executioners of Antony's army.
