BJELKE PETERSEN BROS SCHOOL OF PHYSICAL CULTURE, undated, in 9ct gold (2.40g; 22mm), with suspension ring, obverse, voided monogram initials, 'MSCS', reverse, plain. Very fine.
The above school had its beginnings in Hobart in 1895 when it was founded by a Dane, Hans Christian Bjelke Petersen. He was the uncle of the former premier of Queensland Sir Joh Bjelke Petersen although the latter never had any association with the company. In 1923 it relocated to Sydney and continues to this day but as a non-profit organisation.
