SYRIA, Coele-Syria, Chalkis ad Libanon, Octavian, (issued 31-30 B.C.), AE 18 (7.16 g), issued with Zenodorus, tetrarch and archereus, obv. bare head of Octavian right, NE to left, L B**PS* (date) in right field, rev. traces only ZHNO**D*OROY TETPAPXOY KAI APXHPE**W*S, bare head of Zenodorus left, (S.5899, Sear Imperators 929, RPC I 4774, cf.SNG Cop.417, Lindgren 2136, Oxford AMC 866). Dark patina, good very fine portraits but with weak legends, rare.
Ex Dr Adrian Carr Collection and purchased from Rob Miller in 2002.
