REPUBLIC, Anonymous, (211-208 B.C.), silver sestertius, (0.96 g), Rome mint, obv. helmeted head of Roma to right, border of dots, rev. Dioscuri to right, ROMA in linear frame on tablet, line border, (S.46, Cr.44/7, Syd. 142). Uneven toning and possible fire damage, otherwise nearly very fine and very rare.

Ex RJM collection with ticket.

The rare silver sestertius was the smallest silver denomination issued during the Republic.
