L. AEMILIUS LEPIDUS PAULLUS AND L. Scribonius Libo, (62 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.948 grams), obv. Concord head veiled to left, wearing diadem, around PAVLLVS LEPIDVS CONCORDIA, rev. PVTEAL SCRIBON above LIBO below, the Puteal Scribonianum ornamented with garland between two lyres, tongs at base, (S.368 [£210 EF], Cr.417/1, Syd.927, B.Aemilia 11]). Slightly off centred reverse, with original mint bloom, about extremely fine and rare.

With a US dealer's ticket. The remains of the Puteal Scribonianum were discovered during excavations in 1950. The spot was the haunt of money lenders hence the use of coining implements on the coin.
