CHINA, Hsin Dynasty, Wang Mang Interregnum, (c.A.D. 7-22), a bronze mould 80x82mm (mother), for making a clay coin mould) for six cash coins with four characters on one side, value one cash visible on obverse of three moulds, cash diameter 15mms, issued 7-23 A.D., three moulds with plain reverse, (Coin type Hartill 9.14, Sch.139, TFP 459). Dirt encrusted and with green oxidation, otherwise fine and rare.

Ex Patrick J.O'Rourke Collection, acquired from Noble Numismatics Sale 94 (lot 2010).
