JAPAN, Provincial coinage, Koshu, (c.1567-1736), gold Ichi Bu 15mm, (3.67 g), 'Shin Koshu Ichibu-kin', issued by the Matsuki clan, (1582-1590), obv. Paulownia flower and three Hanji characters, rev. Two Hanji characters. (Hartill, Japanese 8.69, JNDA 9-88; KM 94 [incorrect illustration]). Very fine, lightly toned and rare.
