MAXENTIUS, (A.D. 306-312), AE follis, Rome mint, issued 308-11, (5.77 g), obv. laureate head to right of Maxentius, around IMP C MAXENTIVS P F AVG, rev. CONSERV VRB SVAE around, RBQ in exergue, Roma seated facing, head left, in hexastyle temple, holding globe and sceptre, shield at side; knobs as acroteria and wreath in pediment, (S.14987, RIC 210). Attractive brown toning, extremely fine.
