SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL 1879, - clasp-1879, for the Battle of Ginginglovo. 2091 Br W.Parsons 3/60th Foot. Engraved. Obverse and reverse both heavily polished, very good.
The 3rd Battalion of the 60th Regiment of Foot was pitched in battle against Zulu warriors on Wednesday 2nd April 1879 as part of the 2nd Brigade of the Eshowe Relief Column, an action that claimed the lives of 1200 Zulu warriors.
