Thomas William Russell, engineer with Sth Aust Railways, age 45, born at Mount Barker, Sth Aust; Enl.02Feb1917 at Broadmeadow, Vic, commissioned as Captain to 4th Section Railway Unit at Mitcham; Emb.11May1917; to Temp Major 31Mar1919; relinquished rank of Temp Major and granted honorary rank of Major 01Jun1919; served with 4th (Australian) Broad Guage Railway Operating Coy; RTA 02Jul1919 and arrived 15Aug1919; Appt Terminated 14Sep1919. Entitled to Victory Medal 1914-19.
