JAPAN, British/Japanese friendship stick pin, crossed British and Japanese flags in enamel and silver, with impressed mark on reverse in Japanese characters, translation 'Osaka City'. In Japanese timber maker's box, the front marked in Japanese characters, translation 'Osaka Japan Commemorative', the box very fine, pin extremely fine.

Probably issued at Expo '70, the world fair held in Osaka, Japan between 15 March and 13 September 1970 where the theme of the Expo was 'Progress and Harmony for Mankind'. It was the most attended Expo in history until surpassed by the attendance numbers at the Shanghai World Expo in 2010.
