REPUBLIC, Anonymous, (c.225-217 B.C.), Aes Grave Series, Rome mint, AE quadrans, (56.90 g), obv. head of Hercules left wearing lion's skin, three pellets behind, rev. prow of galley to right with three pellets below, (S.582, Cr.35/4, Syd.75, Haberlin pl.18, 8, Thurlow & Vecchi 54). Light green patina with earthen encrustation, very fine and rare.
