AUGUSTUS, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), AE as, Rome mint, issued 7 B.C. by P. Lurius Agrippa, (9.84 g), obv. bare head to right of Augustus around CAESAR AVG[VST PONT MAX] TRIBVNIC POT, rev. P LVRIVS AGRIPPA III VIR A A A F F around large SC, (S.1686, RIC 428, C.446, CBN 640). Brown patina, weak in places, otherwise good fine and scarce.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 104 (lot 4790). Previously acquired December 1901, and William C. Boyd Collection sold by Baldwin's Auctions September 26, 2005.
