VITELLIUS, (Late April - Dec 20, 69 A.D.), silver denarius, Rome Mint, (2.98 g), obv. laureate head of Vitellius to right around A VITELLIVS GERM IMP AVG TR P, rev. LIBERTAS RESTITVTA, Libertas, draped and standing facing, head to right holding pileus, and in left hand a long rod, (cf.S.2198, RSC 47, BMC 31, RIC 105). Toned, very fine and rare.

Ex Dr V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 107 (lot 3695) and also coming from an old Hungarian collection.
