HADRIAN, (117-138 A.D.), silver cistophoric tetradrachm (10.23 g), Ephesus mint, Struck c.134-138. obv. HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, bare head right, rev. DIANA EPHESIA, cult statue of Diana (Artemis) Ephesia standing front between two stags, (S.3448, RIC II 474, Metcalf, Cistophori, type 5 (p.12-13, unlisted dies), BMCRE 1089-1090, RSC 535). Nearly very fine and rare, overstruck on a cistophorus of Augustus.
