MACRINUS, (A.D. 217-218), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.27 g), issued A.D. 217, obv. bearded Macrinus laureate cuirassed bust to right, around IMP C M OPEL SEV MACRINVS AVG. rev. Jupiter standing to left, holding thunderbolt and sceptre, around PONTIF MAX TR P P P, (S.7342, RIC 15, RSC 55a). Bright, very fine and rare.

Ex Dr. V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 109 (lot 3840) the D.J.Foster Collection.
