SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued 221-2, Rome mint, (2.47 g), obv. bare head bust to right, draped, around M AVR ALEXANDER CAES, rev. PIETAS AVG, Priestly emblems, lituus, knife, jug etc, (S.7794, RIC 3, RSC 198). Full flan, porous surface, very fine, a very rare type.
