MAXIMINUS I, (A.D. 235-238), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.34 g), issued 236-8, obv. MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG GERM, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. VICTORIA GERM, Victory standing to left, holding wreath, captive at feet, (S.8318, RIC 23, RSC 107); another similar Rome mint, (2.63 g), obv. laureate bust of Maximinus I to right, around IMP MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG, rev. VICTORIA AVG, Victory advancing right with wreath and palm, (S.8317, RIC 16, RSC 99). Lightly toned, otherwise very fine - good very fine, scarce. (2)

Ex Dr. V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from M.R.Roberts retail sales in packets described, first coin from the Ron Hansen Collection.
