EIGHT HOUR DAY MEDAL, 1895, in silver (35x33mm) with suspension loop, handmade, obverse, kangaroo and emu supporting a disc containing number 8, scroll above with year, 1895, below a base plate with the words, 'Labour Recreation Rest' (the slogan of the eight-hour day movement was '8 hours Labour, 8 hours Recreation, 8 hours Rest'), reverse, plain except for silver mark. Very fine.
