ITALY, Bruttium, Kaulonia (an early Achaean colony), (c.530-510 B.C.), silver stater, (8.01 g), obv. Apollo naked walking right, holding a laurel branch in the right hand and bearing on his left arm a small running naked figure who also carries a branch in field, to left KAY**L* and to right a stag standing right looking back, rev. similar to obverse but incuse and reversed and without legend, (S.252, SNG ANS 148, Noe 20b, Basel [Ludwig Collection] 190, BMC 9). Toned, some surface pitting, otherwise extremely fine or better and very rare.
