ATTICA, Aegina, (c.445-431 B.C.), silver stater, (12.35 g), obv. land tortoise with large square segmented shell, rev. incuse square of large "skew" design, (S.2600, BMC 149, SNG Delepierre 1781ff.). Toned, well centred with countermark on back, very fine or better, with sharp head and flippers, rare.
Ex Brian Bolton Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 104 (lot 4641) and Sale 73 (lot 3288).
