PALESTINE, Judaea, Bar Kochba Revolt. (132-135 CE), silver zuz or denarius (2.87 g), undated issue (year 3, struck 134/5 CE), obv. 'Shim'on' in Hebrew within wreath, rev. 'for the freedom of Jerusalem' in Hebrew, flagon with handle, luvav to right, (S.5663, Mildenberg 126 [O19/R81], Meshorer 283, H.726). Nearly extremely fine, overstruck on a denarius of Vespasian (cf. RIC 42). Uneven flan with some hoard patination, otherwise nearly extremely fine and scarce.
