ROYAL ARTILLERY PITH HELMET, c1880s, Wolseley pattern, brass unit badge at front, ball at top, brass and leather backed chinstrap secured at sides to lion boss at left and Lancaster Rose boss at right (this a replacement), leather sweatband and cloth interior lining, this marked, 'W arrow D (War Department)/1886' and also '1010/1 Yk/11 88'. Sweatband black colour mostly missing, outer surface with some white painted areas, otherwise fine.
