ABORIGINAL BREAST PLATE, 1800s, crescent shaped in brass (approx 13x10cm), holed at each end for chain suspension, engraved at left side with image of an emu heading left but looking back and with high grass around, on the right side is a kangaroo heading right but looking back, also with high grass around, below this scene is inscribed, 'SAILOR BOY/CHIEF OF THE/URAL TRIBE/Presented by T Ware Esqre', the scene and the inscription filled with black pitch. Fine.

Believed to be from Goulburn/Queanbeyan area.
