MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.27 g), Abydus mint, issued 328-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with line border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, monogram **ZW* to left, forepart of Pegasus below, **[A]LEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6730, Price 1506, BMC 1506a-b, M.609, SNG Cop. 890). Lightly toned, good very fine.
