PALESTINE, Roman Procurator of Judaea, Pontius Pilate, under Tiberius, (A.D. 26-36), struck 31-32 A.D., copper prutah, (2.52 g), obv. lituus surrounded by partial Greek inscription, TIBEPIOY KAICAPOC, rev. LIH date within wreath, (S.5624, H.1343, AJC II Supplement V, No.24, Meshorer 231). Weak in places on both sides, otherwise fine and scarce.
