FAUSTINA SENIOR, wife of Antoninus Pius, (died 141 A.D.), AE sestertius, (29.32 g), issued after AD 141, obv. DIVA AVG FAVSTINA, draped bust of Faustina I to right, hair elaborately waved and piled in bun on top of head, rev. AETER-NITAS Aeternitas, draped, seated left on throne, holding phoenix on globe on right hand and transverse sceptre in left; in exergue S C, (S.4606, C.28, RIC III 1103, Banti 12). Light green patina with earthen deposits, good very fine and rare.
