MAXIMINUS I, (235-236 A.D.), silver denarius, Rome Mint, (3.07 g), obv. laureate bust of Maximinus I to right draped and cuirassed seen slightly from behind, IMP MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG, rev. VICTORIA AVG around, Victory running to right, holding wreath and palm over left shoulder, (S.8317, RIC 16, BMC 105-7, RSC 99a); Gordian III, (Summer 241 A.D.), silver denarius, Rome Mint, (3.74 g), obv. laureate bust of Gordian III draped and cuirassed to right, IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG around, rev. PIETAS AVGVSTI around, Pietas, veiled standing facing with head to left, raising both hands, (cf.S.8677, RIC 129, C.186). Good very fine. (2)
