Bahadur's death early in 1712 prompted another round of fratricidal warfare, this time among his four sons. Azim ush-Shan, the second son, was probably the best positioned, controlling the wealth of Bengal and Bihar. However, after a reign of less than two months he was defeated by Jahandar, his older brother, and fell into a quicksand pit while fleeing. Jahandar himself was in turn defeated by Azim-ush-Shan's son Farruksiyar in January, 1713. Azim-ush-Shan's only coinage was this silver rupee from Jahangirnagar.
